Halorena’s NFT collection and giveaway

Halorena’s growth in the NFT scene and her art style inspirations!

We spoke to Halorena to find out more about her inspiration behind creating NFTs and her love for art.

Tell me more about yourself and your interests!

I am from Indonesia and I have have been working as a graphic designer for over 10+ years. I always had a flare for illustration but I mostly did it for fun or for commission works. Ever since i discovered the endless possibilities with NFTs, I have never stopped since then. Over time, I unlocked new and improved art styles and I incorporated things that were important to me in my art.

When did you start getting into NFTs?

My journey into the NFT space started in September 2021 where I created my first NFT on the Tezos blockchain. I chose Tezos to start off with as I adored their endearing community where I was able to treat it as my “playground” to develop my art style before i ventured off into using different blockchains such as Ethereum.

What/who inspired you to launch you NFT collection?

Seeing the huge success achieved by my illustrator muse Ykha Amelz and Diela Maharani, it ignited a fire inside of me to try and start my NFT journey. When I first started, I was lost as I did not know how the NFT market works and the different processes involved such as minting the NFTs and choosing a blockchain. Furthermore, most of the NFT art pieces created when I first started were all inspired by Japanese art styles and it was the trend back then. In an effort to fit in, I created 3 fan art pieces inspired from Ghibli movies that I love the most: Spirited Away, Arriety and Kiki’s delivery service.

Where did you get inspiration for your work from?

There are a myriad of things that I draw inspiration from for my work. Namely fashion, women, my dreams as well as my day to day activities and events. Furthermore, the problems and issues faced by my friends also inspire me to create art where I try and uplift people through my work by incorporating bright and vibrant colours.

Moving forward, what’s the direction you plan to take with regards to your NFT collections?

I plan to create more unique pieces and find new possibilities and avenues in the NFT scene for me to grow as an artist. I would love to collaborate with other artists and projects for me to expand my horizons and push my boundaries as an artist. I believe that constant improvement is important and I am never afraid to take on new challenges!
